So, I’d like to start out by saying… I’m not very good at writing or with grammar. I definitely don’t use certain words properly and I have my own ‘Kelli-isms’. I sware. I can be funny. I’m extremely passionate about things and I don’t have a large circle of friends that I talk to on a daily basis. I’m okay with that, but being surrounded by 2 kids (and Spongebob) and my husband (a chef, car enthusiast and other ruggedly, manly things), I lack the girly/womanly aspect of conversation. I don’t think I ever really cared about that until now.
I moved to South Carolina 3 years ago. I left my friends in Illinois and have only a couple that I talk to regularly. Ok so 1 that I talk to like every day and the other that I talk to occasionally thru email but almost a lot on Facebook.
Oh, boy… Facebook. The place where people have tons of friends but know none of them. LOL. I was victim of that for a while. I think the people I have on my Facebook friends list, now, are the ones I truly care to know how they are doing. I’m grateful that they have “accepted” my friend request or even requested to be my friend. There have been those that have come and gone… but the ones there… I am glad they are and wish them all happiness!
So, how about I get back on topic… About Me. I’m a mom. I have 2 wonderful kids (that do drive me crazy/up the wall at least 40% of the week) that I love dearly and with all of my heart. Those 2 are my best and favorite accomplishments. Am I going to have more? NO. Do I want more? It truly depends on what day of the week you ask me, but for the most part (98%), NO!
I’m a wife. I will say that the little kid song, “1st is the worst, 2nd is the best, etc”… Well, they got it right. This is my second marriage and it is the best! I have this Amazing guy in my life, that I am lucky to call my best friend as well. I know… super corny. But, it’s true. We’ve been together for 7 years now (married for 2.5 years) and our relationship seems to be more electric now than in the beginning! ;)
About where we live… We live in a tourist vacation hot spot. Our house, now, is the ‘epicenter’ of it and traffic to go across the street to the grocery store (usually wait 4 minutes for light to change), can be a 30-45 minute journey (while avoiding 2-3 car accidents). The subdivision we live in was underdeveloped when we found our house. Maybe 8 houses total in a little over an acre setting (on 1 street). We knew they would be building more houses, but we had NO idea that the construction workers would be such a-holes, and the neighbors would be the kind to slam their car doors (EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, Trunk included) at midnight! We did get lucky with 2 neighbors. But they’ve now developed the area to where there are about 17 houses on our street. That many houses. That many neighbors… only 2 (TWO) are nice! People speed down our, sidewalk-less, cul-de-sac and do donuts in it. Enough is enough! We’ve had enough.
About this blog… Our interests, hobbies, and all other things in general have changed these past couple of years. We’ve gotten more into growing our own vegetables. Eating healthier and less processed foods. More or less organic, but the kind we can afford (which isn’t that much) Now, we want land. An acre of it or more. We want the quiet country (hunting, gardening, chickens, and goats) kind of living. This blog will tell the story of our journey to get there. But I also want it to be about my life. My passions (even if they only last for a minute).
Right now, I only follow 2 bloggers (I hope to grow that list). The 1st, is a beautiful woman (and mother) that I went to high school with and was good friends with (for a time, to be honest we all lose touch) and wish I could have had a ‘grown up’ friendship with her after high school (another reason why I love FB). The 2nd, is another beautiful woman who has had 4 babies of her own. WOW! I have my hands full with 2… she’s got 4! They seem to have different ideas and yet I learn different things from both. I LOVE reading what they post. I hope they, and everyone, will read (and enjoy, lol) mine. I was going to start my blog a week ago because 1 of the bloggers was having a “Post your Love Story” and I really wanted to tell mine. I didn’t have a blog, but I could write a “note” in FB…LOL. I surely did. It was the best damn story I ever wrote… and I clicked preview instead of save. UGH! There was no way, I could write it that good again, so I didn’t. Then I’ve seen these “12 in 2014”, so I thought… “Why not”. And here I am.
I'm extremly new at this, but I can’t wait to share my stories and share my journey. :)
