Getting Our Green Thumbs On

Before we had grass.... Before the fence was installed... Tim got to work on his garden when we moved into this house in 2012...

That very first year was rough.  As you can see from the picture, he was literally trying to turn sandy dirt into good dirt for his garden. We didn't completely fail in 2012:



In 2013, Tim started to build a compost as well. Took our veggie scraps, egg shells, etc and buried it in the garden. That helped:


2014 - With a years worth of composting and getting our soil up to par, we're looking to move.. HA! Go figure right?  But that doesn't mean we stopped trying for our garden. We started our seeds in the house over a month ago.  We've got our various tomatoes, peppers and zuch/squash started and they are looking strong!! We know the soil is good, cause we used our garden soil in our 'solo' cups :)  Even our pear tree (below) is starting to bloom it's flowers.

**Can't wait for the first tomato sauce to be made from our tomato garden!!**
